Fantastic weather, fantastic students and fantastic parents truly are a winning combination – thank you all! We work best when we work together. The New Bridge Parents’ Code of Conduct will be going home to all new and existing parents next week to ensure our caring ethos is understood.
We’ve had another busy week here at New Bridge and we are really pleased with the way our young people support each other, especially moving around the school. Mrs Bingley is currently collating names for the new intake of Buddies and Buds. These will be launched officially in assembly before half term and we look forward to seeing even more of the coveted official badges proudly pinned to jumpers.
Annual reviews are all booked in now and under the current guidelines for transferring to Education Health and Care Plans are taking place across the organisation. Rooms have been specially fitted out to support the new review format and we would like to thank Ms Cotton and Mrs Watson and our admin team for all their preparatory work.
Fire drills will be taking place over the next few weeks and we can only hope the weather stays as good as it has been this week! Students at the Learning Centre have enjoyed sitting outside at lunchtimes, making the most of the lovely sunshine.
School Council elections will be happening over the next few weeks and Heads of Site will be facilitating this process. We are using a national and local agenda to structure our council and support our young people; this also gives them a working understanding of citizenship, British values and morals.
The new sports hall over at Hollinwood Academy is now open and as a shared resource is already being put to good use – we’ll leave you with a few pictures of some Year 7s from both schools enjoying the facilities and making new friends…
Have a great weekend!
