Activ8 were invited to lead at a ‘City in the Community’ inclusive sporting event on Wednesday at the Manchester Velodrome.

The students had a brilliant time and gained more valuable experience in leading sports activities including boccia, curling, goalball, seated volleyball and amputee football. The amputee football and goalball sessions were run by the GB Paralympic team coaches, so our lads really were learning from the best!!

Activ8 also had the opportunity to meet some of the GB Paralympic cycling team who were hard at work in preparation for this summer’s games in Rio!

Then to add the icing to the cake, they managed to bump into Andrew Flintoff (England cricket star, Ashes winner and star of Sky One’s “A League of Their Own” – you may have heard of him….) who took a break from his cycling to have a chat and pose for a picture..

We think that might be a hard day to top, although knowing Activ8, anything’s possible!!
