Dear Parents and Carers,

Each of the AB and E Base classes will have access to a range of learning resources which we recommend you use to support your child in their learning. You can contact your child’s teacher by email:

  • AB1 – Mrs Jeanette McAiney (jmcainey@newbridgegroup.org)
  • AB2 – Miss Chloe Bingley (cbingley@newbridgegroup.org)
  • AB3 – Ms Suzi Taylor (staylor@newbridgegroup.org)
  • AB4 – Mrs Samantha Coleman-Celis (skershaw@newbridgegroup.org)
  • E Base – Miss McDonald (cmcdonald@newbridgegroup.org)
  • E Base – Miss Thornhill (lthornhill@newbridgegroup.org)

Each ‘weekly outline’ is topic based, related to what the pupils have been learning in school. Within each outline there are suggested daily activities to support learning in Communication, Maths, Living Skills and incorporating sensory based activities.

We have also uploaded general resources such as a ‘Now and Next’ electronic version and some sensory processing information and ideas. We have also sent out learning packs which include a range of sensory play based activities.

We will continue to upload material weekly, please email if you have any questions/queries.

Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you soon.

Stay safe and well,

Kind Regards,

Clare Shiel (cshiel@newbridgegroup.org)

We have exciting news from Live Music Now to share with you!!!

New – Free Online Video Library: www.livemusicnow.org.uk/lmnathomeschools

Live Music Now musicians are usually to be found visiting schools all over the UK performing participatory concerts and leading music residencies.  Whilst they aren’t able to visit schools in person, Live Music Now have commissioned them to create short recorded concerts and music sessions for schools and families to enjoy for free.

You can find the videos here with more videos added each week:

~ wide range of performances, instruments and musical styles

~ ranging from 15 – 30 minutes in length

~ accessible for children and young people with additional learning needs

~ inspired by the musicians’ visits to SEN schools

~ opportunities to join in and learn new things about music

This library is a new area of work for the charity, so if you have feedback or ideas for future videos, please could you let them know by emailing: schools@livemusicnow.org.uk

Live Music Now is also now delivering live online music sessions directly into the classroom and at home with families via Zoom, Microsoft Teams and other online platforms.  Read here about what we’ve been doing with SEN schools and families.
