It has been a busy week at Medtia Square which ended with a burst of creativity – all the students on the pathways have been involved in an exciting project creating and making, which is linked to our ever growing enterprise, the Flexi-Space. The students have been using projectors to create large scale drawings and sewing machines to create inflatables and banners. The project is going over to Monday and I will talk more about this in my blog next week!

This week we take a closer look at Lumenus who have been hard at work, as Mrs Preston explains..

We have hit the ground running; this is going to be an extremely busy half-term for Lumenus! Every Wednesday we will be down at school rehearsing for the MAT production of We Will Rock You..

..while on Thursdays we are rehearsing at Oldham Theatre Workshop for the Royal Exchange SEND festival on 20th March..

On Tuesday the group went to the Springboard Project with Mr Handrick to use the green room facilities there. Beth and Poppy had scenes to film for the show. They had to get in their costumes and rehearse their lines before getting in front of the lights and camera. They were a little nervous and it took several takes, but we got there in the end and it is going to look great in the show.

On Thursday we took part in our last workshop from the Royal Exchange. They helped the students to make some minor adjustments that put the finishing touches to the piece. We are very excited!

Tickets are now on sale for ‘We Will Rock You’ on 28th, 29th and 30th April – it is going to be a fantastic show so make sure you book yours before they sell out! (Click here and scroll down to the bottom of the page to place your order)

I hope you have a lovely weekend,
